Palau CityFest in Tempe AZ

Today I spend the day in Tempe, AZ at the Luis Palau CityFest. It was an incredible day. The festival begins with a resource fair at 9:00AM. Things really heated up in the afternoon with the action sports zone with skateboarders, bmx riders and motocross jumpers.  At the end of the demonstration one of the skateboarders share a message and gave a powerful invitation to receive Christ. It was packed. The police put the crowd estimates at 60,000. There’s a family fun zone with bounce houses, games and booths like face painting. At 3:00PM there is a Spanish program on the main stage with Luis preaching in Spanish. The evening kicked off with on the main stage with Phil Wickham and then Mat Kearney. Mat was amazing (I posted some video on Facebook). Luis Palau then brings home a powerful message followed by and invitation where thousands of people respond (we will know the actual count tomorrow). What better way to finish a day then with a concert by Toby Mac? I got to know Toby on the Make A Difference Tour last year and spent some time with him backstage. So here’s the best part – we are working to bring this to Sacramento. Are you in? We are also working on a partnership with World Vision as well (cool details to come). There’s a lot more to this including a six month season of service with over several hundred churches participating by serving their community. It continues tomorrow with another evening with Israel Houghton, The Band Perry and Skillet. They stream it live on www.palau.tv.
